Chapter 70. On the Run
Emily’s POV
Staying on high ground is more advantageous. Benson positions himself behind a massive tree, its trunk thick enough to provide space for the bullets fired to not reach Benson's muscular body. I stand between two trees with intertwined roots and trunks, creating a perfect opening for me to see the other side without needing to move my body too much, leaving it exposed.
Jimmy's soldiers advance up the hill, but Benson initiates gunfire in their direction. He manages to hit three soldiers who fall upon impact and roll down. With this counterattack of ours, Jimmy is forced to put more soldiers around him and take cover to protect himself. While we were running, he had the advantage, but now we had managed to change the situation slightly in our favor.
