Chapter 82. Capturing Darkness

Emily’s Pov

After Benson stood in front of the cameras for almost half an hour explaining the whole operation, his attention came to me. He walks briskly towards me and my arms open wide to receive him. Benson hugs me and lifts me off the ground. I let out a laugh as he spun us around, still holding onto each other.

Some cameras capture this moment, and I hear the sound of photos being taken, but I try to ignore them. My attention wants only Benson.

"Shall we go home?" Benson whispers near my ear, and I promptly nod in agreement.

Neil appears with a black car ready to take us back to the palace. Inside the car, Benson takes a small translucent vial from his jacket pocket and offers it to me. I look at it with curiosity.

"It took a while, but we got the antidote," Benson declares proudly. I blink in surprise at the revelation and take the vial in my hand.

As soon as I swallow the tasteless liquid, everything awakens inside me. L
