Chapter 93. Tournament Trials

Emily’s Pov

"Please, what happened?" I asked again when we were already in the palace corridor.

"How's Amy? How was the visit?" Benson changes the subject, and I find his behavior strange.

I take a deep breath before answering, trying to convey a sense of calm despite my restlessness.

"She's recovering, still weak. But I believe she'll wake up soon," I reply calmly.

Benson nods, but there is still a shadow in his eyes.

"That's good to hear, Emily. I know Amy is very important to you," Benson replies. We stop in front of a metal door; he takes my hands in his, and our eyes meet. "We have some matters to discuss."

I continue to stare at Benson, prepared to confront whatever may come against us. My biggest fear was to hear that Nina had somehow managed to escape from prison, but what came out of Benson's mouth left me confused.
