Chapter 95. Love Conquers All

Emily’s Pov

Nobody claimed Nina's lifeless body. Not even my parents wanted to hold a burial ceremony for her, so Nina was buried as a pauper along with other inmates who did not survive, and no family came to claim her.

For several nights, echoes of screams and flames from the fire haunted my mind. But the fear I felt never resurfaced; dreams of my old life stopped. With Nina's death, my vengeance was complete, and so was my healing.

I enter the hospital with a heavy heart, not for Nina's loss, but for the life of my best friend Amy. Her eyes, once full of life, joy, and humor, are now dull and empty.

I do what I always do when visiting her in recent weeks; I sit by her side and hold her hand. When I am ready to use my healing power, nothing happens. I furrow my brow and concentrate again to awaken my power. But I feel nothing happening.

Nothing stirs inside me, only Lily, who also seems to feel strange with the lack of manifestation of
