As soon as Cassandra stepped out of the Hawthorne estate, that tall figure caught her eye. Ethan stood there, his handsome, gentle face now shrouded in icy coldness, radiating an unmistakable fury.

Yeah, he was definitely waiting to settle the score.

Ethan stormed over in quick strides, grabbed her wrist and yanked her into a corner. His voice dropped low and sharp. “Happy now? You just had to do this, didn’t you, Cassandra? What the hell do you get out of hurting her like that?”

He couldn’t forget the scene in the study—Mara on her knees, a sobbing wreck, and helplessly watching it all tore him apart.

He honestly wanted to destroy Cassandra in that moment.

“Thrilled, actually,” Cassandra said, lifting her eyes—those deep, glistening ones full of pain and fire—and offered a smile so beautiful it was almost cruel.

So she’s the one who should die? Hell no. Ethan and Mara were the ones who owed a damn death.
