Chapter 30
“All done.”
Gabriel tied Lilah’s hair into a slightly high ponytail with a hair tie, precise to the point of sweeping in even the wispy strands on the sides.
Lilah turned to look at him only after hearing his voice. Her cheeks were a little pink as she mumbled, “Th-thanks...”
Aiden giggled from the side, “Mommy... you and Daddy are a family. Why are you thanking him?”
“Aiden’s right.” Gabriel looked at Lilah deeply, his voice low and smooth, with a kind of pressure that made her heart skip a beat.
Lilah didn’t know how to respond. She stood up and moved behind Aiden. “Come on, let’s finish your painting.”
She was already done with hers; now it was Aiden’s turn, and she was here to guide him.
Gabriel glanced at his watch. “I’ll head to the office.”
“Sure, go ahead.”
Lilah threw him a quick look. Dressed in all black, he still looked sharp and cold, probably brought work back since it was still early.
