Xerina’s POV
I could barely open my eyes. The world around me was a blur, and my body felt like it was trapped in a haze of agony. The visions had stopped two hours ago, the voices silenced, but the quiet only made the pain sharper, more real. Every breath was a struggle, each inhale a reminder of the wounds that still bled, slow and relentless.
The only thing I could feel was my own heart racing.
Just when I thought I could finally slip into the darkness, the door creaked open.
I tried to lift my head, but even that small movement sent a searing pain through my skull. I groaned, the sound low and guttural, as I forced my eyes to focus.
