I had no idea how long it had been. Minutes, hours, days—they all bled into each other like the wounds on my body. The concept of time had lost its meaning, consumed by the endless cycle of pain and despair.
“Get up, bitch,” Leon’s voice snarled, and before I could react, his boot slammed into my ribs. The force sent me sprawling onto the cold stone floor, gasping for breath that wouldn’t come.
