Chapter 69. I’m Not Letting Her Go

Rasmus’s POV

There were shifts. I sensed them as soon as I left her room. Eyes on me, watching closely. And it wasn’t the first time I’d felt them. Someone was tailing me.

My lips curled into a grin. Well, it would be fun.

I had expected this, knowing the Alphas residing in my palace would not let go of any chance to spy on me and find my weakness. The time of coronation was crucial. They would go to great lengths to challenge me, or some might even attempt murder.

But they didn’t realize who they were dealing with. I’d been preparing for this for years, sharpening every weapon, honing every skill. No one would catch me off guard. Not now, not ever.

I continued down the corridor, deliberately slowing my pace, allowing whoever it was to get closer. Let them think they had the upper hand. It would make their defeat all the more satisfying.

When I reached the end of the corridor, I paused, pretending to examine the tapestries lining the wall.
