Chapter 11
Chris’s POV
Zeke had always been a tool and using Vivid for the attention she lavished on him. I assumed he rejected her so harshly because he didn’t want to be permanently bonded to her. But overhearing the things he said to her, I was starting to wonder the cause of the extent of his hatred now for her. Zeke was an ass but now he was downright cruel.
I watched from a distance as Vivid wiped away tears and made her way to the mess hall, wanting so badly to go comfort her. But I needed to watch her. I needed to see who she interacted with. Who she could possibly be around to bring out these fantasies. Call it stalkerish but I called it curiosity.
When she sat alone in the hall, ignored by everyone else, I knew breakfast wasn’t where I’d find my answers. Maybe during her day. Good thing I’d taken the day to watch.
