Special Chapter: Kayden's POV

I carefully laid Evelyn on the bed while the doctor soon arrived with her medical kit and quickly began to examine her . Elsie and Ana came into the room but only stood close to the door, not venturing to come nearer.

I know how hard it must be for them but it's also difficult for me to see the one that I love in such a terrible state.

The doctor turned to us with a sad look on her face before dropping the bombshell.

"I'm sorry but I doubt I'll be able to save her and her child. Her condition is very critical. The poison is spreading very quickly. I need to administer an antidote as soon as possible before it spreads any further and kills her." The doctor revealed but I didn't let the news dishearten me. Instead it made me know that there was at least still some hope but no matter how little the chances are, I'll take it.
