Chapter 22. First Kiss

Emma’s POV

Standing in the center of my new bedroom that I will be sharing with Ethan, I wrap my arms around myself and glance around the room hesitantly. There is a large four poster bed that sits in the center of the room made of dark wood and decorated in deep blues and gold. There is a small sitting area in the corner by a large fireplace and I make a mental note to myself about sleeping on the couch.

Ethan closes the door behind us and I begin to feel the panic rise in my chest once again. It feels like I am unable to escape the room. I turn and look at the closed door and tears begin to stream down my face.

“Hey,” Ethan says sweetly as he wraps his arms around me. “I promise I will never hurt you.”
