Chapter 25. First Training Lesson

Emma’s POV

Rushing from the bedroom I head down to the training grounds as quickly as I can. I know that I am going to be late and I hope that Daniel takes it easy on me. As I head towards the training grounds I can feel butterflies forming in my stomach. This will be the first time that I will have ever been trained and I am nervous.

As I step onto the training grounds I can feel everyone’s eyes on me, especially Daniel’s. Daniel barks at the other trainees to get back to work as he jogs over to me.

“Late on your first day,” He says with a sour look on his face. This isn’t the Daniel that I know.

“I know,” I say, keeping my eyes glued to the ground. “I didn’t mean... I overslept.”

“Funny,” Daniel says with a bit of a growl in his voice. “Ethan mind linked me to tell me that you were late because of him.”

“I am sorry,” I say quietly.

“Laps,” Daniel says. “One for every minute that you were late.”
