Chapter 7. It’s Not Your Choice

Emma’s POV

“What?” Ethan’s voice is shocked.

“You want me to marry your son?” I ask with my eyes widened with shock.

“It is the logical thing to do,” The Alpha says with a straight face.

“I don’t think I would say this is logical,” Ethan interjects and I cannot help but feel a little rejected by his words.

“I am only seventeen,” I murmur, not wanting to cause any problems but I am definitely not getting married at seventeen.

“If I remember correctly you turn eighteen next month,” The Alpha says with a huge grin spread across his face. “That will give us plenty of time to plan the wedding.”

“Father,” Ethan’s voice is stern and slightly angry. “If we could talk about this in private.”

“What is there to talk about?” The Alpha says crankily. “You need a mate, I want to retire, and Emma needs protection. It is the perfect plan.”

Ethan looks at me and then at his father. “What about Emily?”
