Chapter 90. Checkmate

Emma’s POV

After much disagreement and arguing between the doctor and I, he finally agreed that I could go home today. The one condition is that I am to take it easy and not put myself under any more stress. But with Thomas and I parting on good terms, I cannot think of a reason that I could be stressed. Ezra knows the truth that Ethan is his father and he could not be happier. Ethan has asked me on a date as soon as I am released from the hospital. Everything in my life seems to be turning around for once.

Pulling the clothes out of the bag that Ethan brought me, a smile spreads across my lips when I see that he has brought me his own sweats. At the bottom of the bag there is a handwritten note.

“I thought you might like to smell like your favorite scent... me.”

I roll my eyes at his boldness but he is right. There is nothing more that I would like to smell right than his scent. Pulling the sweatshirt over my head I lift it to my nose and inhale deepl
