Chapter 65. Harshly Judged
Long minutes had turned into hours, the morning growing into a sunny day. Ayan was still leading her daughter deep into nowhere. They had left the rich neighborhood, and now they were on the streets. From where they stood, Ayana could see the widespreadness of the city ahead of them. It would take them a few more minutes to get into the big city, which meant they had really trekked far.
She looked at her daughter, who seemed worn out by the long, tiring journey. She felt pity, and so bad for her. “Sweety?” she called out, and her daughter looked up to her. “Do you want to rest?” She asked.
“I can walk a little bit more, Mommy. But I am hungry,” Lyana said, and even with her voice alone, anyone could tell that she was really tired. Her excitement about seeing the new world had faded.
