Chapter 84. Hired
Ayana’s POV
After a long length of time that slipped away like smoke in the air, I arrive at the kiosk, and I am being forced to shake this nerve-wracking Adam issue out of my thought. But how can I do that when it is the only thing banging my head? I turn around, making sure that his shadow is not roaming around.
But this is a busy road. Even if he were around, hiding behind all these people is so easy. And since I don’t want to cause traffic by standing on the pathway while people are in a hurry to hit their work destinations, I toss Adam in the back of my mind and start walking towards Mr. Julio, who seems so busy even from a distance.
I walk slowly, the image of my daughter hitting this merciless ground that day almost causing tears from my eyes, but I am quick to blink them back. It was even by sheer miracle that she was not hit by a car. I don’t know what could have happened. And I don’t want to imagine.
