Chapter 23
Anabel dismissed the notion that Justin and Bianca did something inconceivable. Her grandson appeared to be very tired, and he reeked of alcohol. “Justin, do you recall the doctor that your mother cited last time we visited? Let’s go. Take us there so he can check on me. I think someone put poison on my food.” She insisted.
Justin chuckled. Occasionally, his grandmother could be unreasonable. Why would someone put poison on her food? She might have a sharp tongue, but it’s not reason enough for someone to hate her that much. “It’s just the flu, Lola. Why don’t you take some medicine?”
“Are you going to take us or not?” Anabel’s voice has become high-pitched. She was exhausted from justifying to everyone that she was poisoned or that someone had played black magic on her. Even her husband didn’t believe in her! And now, her favorite grandson wouldn’t believe in her either!
