Madison’s POV

When we got to Lady Vee’s chamber, I could not help but wonder which punishment she would give me because I am sure she knew that I had tried to escape.

But contrary to my thoughts, she told the guards, “Leave, I will handle this myself.”

“Aye.” The two guards uttered in unison before walking out.

When the guards left, she instructed me, “Shut the door and swipe the latch.”

I quickly did as she said, and turned back to her, “Is there anything else you want me to do before the punishment?” I asked curtly, but she shook her head.

Without a word, Lady Vee sat down on a side stool, in front of her was an unfinished painting, which looked similar to a dungeon. From the outlines, I could see that it was the same dungeon from earlier, where I had met that old woman.

She took a brush, and dipped it inside the ink that had already been prepared, before asking, “Staying inside a dungeon for the rest of your life, or given a status
