Chapter 22

In the coming days, Mitchell and George would find themselves overloaded with work. They had to go back to the hospital to see Mrs. Godsplan. By doing so, they had managed to garner a little more information that they could add to their evidence.

George and Mitchell still had an enormous workload on them. Not knowing much about Mr. Godsplan’s defense lawyer unknowingly had them on the edge of their seats.

Day after day, Mitchell would walk into the office with dark circles under her eyes. On some nights, she wouldn’t bother going home. Staying all night at the office would be better than going home only to get attacked.

It was about three days before the court hearing, and George had managed to schedule a meeting between them and Mr. Godsplan. He had walked into Mitchell’s office that morning with a Starbucks coffee in hand and two donuts.
