Chapter 24
It was a still night.
One of those nights when the darkness seemed to envelop one in its cocoon. The sky, void of stars, held a dim moon barely peeking out of the dark clouds but still, enough rays to create shadows of the hedges, trees, and lamp posts lining the street of Bay Fair. Tonight, the crickets seemed to have taken a break from work. It was a night when no one would want to be caught outside the warmth of their abodes. It was also the best night to commit murder seamlessly under the echoes of the shadows.
In quick steps, Martha Peters walked out of Blue County Law Firm.
