Chapter 59

Serena POV

I don’t pretend to be a mind reader and have never pretended to be one, but at the same time it wouldn’t take a mind reader to tell that Myles was actually triumphant as he carried me into my room.

My arms were tightly wrapped around his neck as he moved, and his smell, his sweet smell kept making my mind wander off, get lost in lots of thoughts and all. Damn, which perfume was he using?!

He finally approached the bed and slowly lowered me into the mattress, but as I took my hands off of him, there was that noticeable and faint sadness and regret within my mind, a very small part of my mind that felt sorry to let go of him.

“Just give me a call if you need anything.” He said in what appeared to be his calmest and most assured voice.

I couldn’t utter a word in return. I was surprised that he, Myles Voss of all people, would ever make that offer.
