Chapter 7. The Retards

Gwendolyn woke up the next morning with her whole body aching. She roamed her eyes around the room and saw the space beside her clean. She wondered where Evander was, but there was no single trace of him. She also saw her clothes on the bedside, which looked like they were already washed and ironed neatly.

Gwendolyn took a bath despite the pain in her lower part. She found breakfast on the kitchen table and a note saying that she should reheat it before she eats it. After eating, she found herself roaming around Evander’s pad. Everything looked neat and organized. It was so like him. ‘Evander must be in his hospital. Considering the schedules of doctors, he must have a lot on his plate. I should distance myself for the time being,’ Gwen thought to herself.
