Ally's POV

I sit with my back against a plush chaise lounge. Elliot's hand finds mine in the semi-darkness, his touch both soothing and electrifying as we share the solitude of this night, away from the prying eyes of our respective packs.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" His voice is a soft murmur, barely rising above the whisper of the wind that carries the scent of wildflowers and the distant ocean.

"Enchanting," I reply, my gaze fixed on the orb that hangs above us, its luminescence mirrored in his eyes. The wine in my veins makes the world seem less sharp, the edges of my worries blurred by the alcohol and the comfort of Elliot's presence.

He pours more ruby liquid into my glass, and I watch the swirl of colour, thinking about how much has changed since I've come to know him- the King's twin brother, a man veiled in mystery and bound by duty, yet here with me, defying expectations.
