“Form up!” my voice was firm, echoing across the clearing in the forests. The werewolves quickly lined up before me, at my command.

The morning sun cast long shadows over the training grounds where the Nightshade pack was assembled. The air was filled with the scent of earth and pine, and there was a distant sound of a babbling brook, which exuded serenity. 

I stood at the centre, my eyes scanning the faces of my warriors. Their numbers were fewer now, a painful reminder of the brutal attack on our pack weeks ago. 

Now, there were a little over twenty but I was looking to train some of our youngsters who were above sixteen years old, even though it was when they got to eighteen years that they were usually recruited to join the pack's warriors.
