Chapter 156. The First Victory
Issahil's POV
“No,” I mumbled to myself internally. “I can’t die here.”
My vision was blurred and I was weak from losing so much blood, still, my eyes searched for an opening. There had to be an opening, I told myself. I was desperate. Desperate to stay alive.
The rogue, overconfident and distracted by my weak state, loosened his grip slightly and that was all the opportunity I needed. The opening I'd been looking for all along.
I seized the moment, summoning my remaining energy. I drove my claws into his chest and feeling his heart under my fingers, I tore it out with a final push. His blood splattered all over me.
The rogue’s eyes widened in shock and pain as he collapsed to the ground, dead. I rolled to my side and struggled to my feet, my breath coming in ragged gasps. Turning to one side, I puked.
