Chapter 8. Hope Perhaps
Issahil's POV
Without wasting more time, I ran out of the pack in tears. Not bothering to gather any of my belonging. I ran and ran and ran until I was out of breath.
Days after, I was still running hopelessly and aimlessly in the forest with no where to go. I had no pack or friend to run to. I was tired and hungry. Above all, I was broken. Broken beyond measure. Trying to dodge rogues and other wild beasts of the forest was not an easy feat for a pregnant woman. I cried until I could cry no more. I felt like dying. Even my wolf was weak and exhausted. She could only whimper in my head.
I heard some rustles close by, I did not mind thinking it was some rabbits having fun in under the afternoon sun. What I did not expect what the swift cuff around my left wrist. I opened my eyes immediately and say some men hovering over me.
“She’s going to bring good sales, won’t she?” One of the men said, a wild smile on his lips.
