Chapter 14

My room looked like a massive pile of a mess, and I took out a blouse from my closet, only to frown and toss it aside.

It was already five o'clock that Saturday and the company dinner party was like two hours from now, and I still had not decided on what to wear.

For half of the morning, I have been lying in bed, thinking about if Levi might attend the event, and a part of me believed that he wouldn't because of the conversation I had with Ashley and her colleagues on Monday.

But there was also this part of me that felt like he was going to show up, and I didn't want it to be awkward if he did since I lied to him and told him that I wasn't going.

The burden of my lie had me contemplating all morning, and now that I had decided to give the dinner a chance and prove to Emily and her so-called friends that they were wrong, I couldn't find the right outfit, maybe because a part of me didn't want to.
