Chapter 59

Brenda’s Pov:

The house was unusually quiet when I woke up. First, Dominick was not in bed and when I went downstairs no one was around. I called out for them and searched all the rooms and outside as well.

I sat on the couch in the living room and waited. Some hours later, Kevin came in. I stood up abruptly and asked if he knew the whereabouts of Dominick and Stella. He paused, murmured some inaudible words gruffly and walked to their bedroom.

He left the house few minutes after. I was worried sick when it was approaching afternoon and there was no sign of them. I was almost dozing off when I heard the door open and jumped up.

“Oh my goodness! Stella, Dominick,” I rushed to meet them at the door. “Where have you two been? I was worried to death.”

Dominick was holding Stella and I noticed she limped while she walked.

“Is everything okay? What happened to her?” I turned to Dominick.
