Chapter 10. Good News!

Lucas’s POV

I lay in my hospital bed, the beeping machines reminding me of my situation. It had been a week and some days now, and I was already fully recovered.

Although I overheard some nurses saying I was going to be transferred to a rehabilitation center, which was odd because I never told anyone I was into drugs.

Shit! I had just forgotten that this was a hospital, and there was no way they wouldn’t find out.

But still, I didn’t need any help. I was perfectly fine, and I needed to get the hell away from here. Today, I would play the part of the remorseful patient. That way, I could manipulate them, making them see that I was okay.

The door creaked open, and Emily, one of the nurses, walked in with her clipboard. She was kind and had a soft spot for lost causes. Perfect.
