“Lucas, why are you doing this?” Mattias asked. But I could tell Lucas wasn’t ready to explain himself. And that was what scared me the most: the fact that he could be so selfish, so senseless, so desperate to go this far just to be with me, when the last thing I would ever want was to be with him.
