Chapter 29. Shimma!

Anna’s POV

Hours had passed, and there were no words or feedback from the cops and Mattias.

Although the police had informed me about Shimma’s call, it made me even more anxious.

Yes, I was more than happy and grateful to hear that she was alive. But—she was in terrible danger.

She was left alone in the middle of the night in the forest. God, my heart breaks at the thought of it. I’m scared—I’m scared because, what if she can’t run any longer? What if she passes out? Or What if she gets attacked by a wild animal? God! I’m not trying to be negative in a way but the thoughts, the fears…they can’t stop coming. I feel terribly scared…scared to death even. I don’t want to lose her. She’s the only one I have left.

“Shimma, please… hold on. Wherever you are, stay strong. For your family—for the people who love you to death. Please,” I prayed silently.
