Anna’s POV

Hours had passed, and there was no word or feedback from the cops or Mattias.

Although the police had informed me about Shimma’s call, it made me even more anxious.

Yes, I was more than happy and grateful to hear that she was alive. But—she was in terrible danger.

She was left alone in the middle of the night in the forest. God, my heart breaks at the thought of it. I’m scared—I’m scared because what if she can’t run any longer? What if she passes out? Or what if she gets attacked by a wild animal? God! I’m not trying to be negative, but the thoughts, the fears… they can’t stop coming. I feel terribly scared… scared to death, even. I don’t want to lose her. She’s the only one I have left.
