Chapter 31. This Can’t Be
Shimma’s POV
I sat across the doctor’s desk, watching him study me with a smile that only fueled my impatience.
“Please hold on, Mrs. Shimma. Your results will be out shortly,” he said. I nodded, trying to suppress my anxiety.
Despite my nerves, I focused on staying calm.
Moments later, the door opened gently, revealing a nurse in white scrubs. She had glowing ginger hair, and her warm smile immediately eased my tension. She was stunning.
“Good day, ma’am,” she greeted softly.
“Good day,” I replied, returning her smile as she handed an envelope to the doctor.
“Thank you, Nurse Clara. You may take your leave,” the doctor said. She nodded and exited the room.
I turned back to the doctor, my fingers gripping my bag tightly. The nerves had returned, more intense this time.
I watched as he swiftly opened the envelope, his eyes scanning the contents. A smile broke across his face as he looked at me.
