Chapter 25
The knocking on the door has me looking up. Jackson looks up at it.
“What?” He sounds angry. I hope it isn’t because of me again. I forgot this door isn’t soundproof. Each room has two doors. I have a feeling that, had this not worked, he was going out into the corridor.
“It’s Marcus. You were meant to be home hours ago. Remember you told me to wait there to talk to you?” I look up at Jackson.
“Sorry.” I laugh. Getting up, I grab my clothes along the way to the bedroom, shutting the door after me while I get dressed. Today was almost like having Jackson back, not hiding away through fear. Walking out, Jackson is fully clothed. Marcus is standing next to him. They are both looking at me like they are confused. What the hell now? Can I never get a break, like seriously?
