Chapter 43
“Are you guys okay?” She is looking at me confused. We have been gone a while, far longer than we said we would be.
“We've never been better, other than being ready to crash out at any second, but yeah, we're great.” I smile at her, my eyes feeling heavy.
“Okay, well, I'll catch up with you tomorrow. I'm off to bed myself, so I will see you in the morning.” I watch as she walks off, and we head up to our room. Walking in, my body slumps on the bed. I am exhausted. Yet tonight should have been different. Roxy was here. I told myself if I saw her, the thoughts would go, but they didn’t. They are still here, screaming with a vengeance.
