Chapter 5

They drove into the hospital parking lot without much of an incident. Selena’s lips were no longer tinging blue, thanks to his powers to manipulate the weather. He had been so lost in his conversation with the old witch that he did not remember to keep her warm.

The car stopped, and the hospital staff were quick to approach with a stretcher; he laid her out and was promptly being fired questions as they wheeled her in. The commotion startled her awake, but the nurses were quick to calm her down.

“Miss, miss? You are at the hospital. I need you to take a deep breath. Then we can talk about what happened. Miss? Can you tell me your name?” the nurse kept asking her questions, but her frantic eyes were still searching. Liam immediately excused himself from the doctor who was questioning him and ran to her side.
