Chapter 105

The sun was setting, painting the sky with a beautiful orange. The wind was getting colder and the sound of the earth could be heard. Levi had left and it was now only Clary and her mom. 

“I think we should have brought a few clothes,” Clary mumbled as they continued to walk in the direction of the wilderness. 

“Okay, if we were going to bring a few clothes, you do know that we would have had to carry them, right? And gosh, I’m already out of breath; we’ve been walking for at least an hour or more. 

Clary chuckled. “I’m tired too, Mom, but I think we have only been walking for forty minutes at most.” 

“Forty minutes is way too long, Clary, I’m already tired,” Sarah said, trying to catch her breath. “How do we even know that we’re going the right way? Are you sure we’re supposed to be going this way?” 

Clary sighed lowly. “Mom, I don’t know if we’re going the right way, to be honest, but a part of me feels like we are.”
