Chapter 12

Ace’s words immediately caused tension to rise in the air. Selena groaned lowly and looked at her husband. “Honey, look, this is your future that we’re talking about. This is the future of the pack we’re talking about. Listen to yourself, stop this,” She said to him. 

“No means no, Clary’s not going with Levi,” Ace repeated nonchalantly. He was stern about his decision. Nothing and no one was going to change his mind. 

“Dammit, Ace!” Mr. Clark snapped. “You’re just like your father! Stubborn and strong-willed! You remember what happened to him, right? I don’t have to remind you how it all ended for him.”

Ace’s heart broke a bit at the mention of his father. His father was Alpha before him and had been banished for falling in love with a human. The last time that Ace saw his father was when he was only nine years old, and that memory tortured him every single day. 

“I’m nothing like my father. Don’t dare compare me to that coward,” Ace warned Mr. Clark
