Chapter 18

Clary was sitting on the porch of the huge mansion. So much was going through her mind and she really wanted to stop crying, but the tears kept flowing from her eyes. She was wondering whether ignorance was better than ever knowing. 

When she was ignorant, she had hope and a perfect fantasy about her real parents and how she would meet them. But now that she knew the truth about them, she did not like it. She wanted to erase her memory, she wanted to be ignorant again. 

Selena and Mr. Clark were inside but Clary could hear their voices getting louder, signaling that they were walking in her direction. Soon, they walked out of the house and their eyes fell on her. 

“So um, I already got my Beta to grab your toothbrush from the bathroom in your room back at the mansion,” Selena flipped her hair as she informed Clary. “They also have something to use for Mr. Clark, and they are on their way to the lab right this moment.”
