Chapter 16

Chad had a smirk on his face as he stared coldly at Jade. Jade did not back down and had a nonchalant look. 

“Chad, leave him alone. He’s not bugging me.” I touched his arm, and he peeled his eyes from Jade and looked at me. 

He balanced his weight rudely on Jade’s desk with his hands. “Are you sure, my love?” 

I swallowed. “Yes, I’m sure, Chad. Now, leave him alone. Please.” I begged him with pleading eyes, and I could tell from the expression on his face that he was looking for trouble. 

“Okay.” He smiled brightly. “Anything for my baby.” He took his hands from Jade’s desk. “Come with me, let’s go sit in the back.” He extended his hand to me. 

I could feel Jade’s eyes on me. And Chad was waiting for a response from me. “Why are you hesitating?” He continued. “So you want to take a break from me and want space, but you simultaneously want to sit next to this creep?”

“Watch your language,” Jade said between his teeth.
