Chad looked upset as he sat in his seat. “I swear if I knew that that guy worked here, I wouldn't have brought you here.” He scoffed. “How did he even get a job at such a fine establishment? Did he lie on his resume? I’m sure he did.” 

“Why do you hate him so much? Jade.” I asked as I played with the tips of my hair. 

“Stop it. You know, Katara. The guy and I were best friends since kindergarten and then the first day of high school, he just stopped talking to me out of the blue. When I asked him why he did that, he only ignored me.” Chad explained.

“Oh.” My voice was breathy. “Well, that’s confusing.”

“Hell, yeah. So I started working out and soon I became one of the most popular guys at school. And I made sure to treat him like sh*t.” He rocked his jaw.
