Earn it? Was Jade being serious?

Was he being serious about the fact that I had to earn information from him? 

I guess he did have a point though. It was something very personal to him; so personal that he did not even tell Chad who he was best friends with when they were younger, so I guess it was fair.

Also, earning the story might be another way of him saying that he wanted to gain my trust first. And I did not blame him. I was in the body of a bitter and very mean person; someone who had treated him like crap for a very long time. 

He had every right to be skeptical.

It was not like I could tell him that I was not really Katara and was actually a dead girl that had reincarnated into her body as a gift from the Moon goddess. That was way too much information. And definitely not the right time.
