Chapter 47

It was now nightfall, a few minutes later after the betas had done their last routine check. The full moon sat in the sky as thin white clouds slowly danced past it. The wind was cold and flowed with not much strength. 

Anxiety and excitement filled my heart and Jade were by my side. With his help, I had already given the pies to the guards; every single one of them had tasted them. Even the ones who said that they did not want to eat some. 

I lay on the lawn and Jade lay next to me as we waited for the sleeping agent that was placed in the pies to kick in. A few guards were already dozing off, but a few were more stubborn, and we just had to wait them out. 

As for Vanessa and the other omegas, I relieved them of all of their duties for the night. I told them to go home; that I wanted to have a party and wanted only my friends to be there. They, of course, did as I told them even though some of them had suspicions.
