Chapter 76

Belle had captured everyone’s attention. “Dad,” She began. “There is something that I need to tell you; something that mom and I need to tell you.” She glanced at her mom. 

“Belle…” Her mom chuckled nervously and grabbed a glass of water to drink. After taking a very small sip and putting the glass back down, she continued, “If you are about to say what I think you are about to say, then no, it is not the right time.” 

“When would it be then?” Belle asked. 

“What are you two talking about?” Billy chuckled. 

“Mom has HIV,” Belle blurted out. 

Billy rolled his eyes playfully. “Um, that has not been a secret to me. She told me even before you were born.” He shrugged nonchalantly. “But what I’m concerned about is you just blurting that sensitive information in front of Lucia. No offense to her but we have not known her for even more than a month.”
