Then it stopped. The bright light dimmed down until it was gone. We opened our eyes and looked at our means of physical contact, which was me holding onto Pearl’s hand. 

“Oh,” She chuckled the word out. “Oh my gosh! You did it!” She sounded so excited. She pulled me in for a hug and I could not resist. I hugged her back and her perfume filled my nose. 

I could not believe it either. I actually did it. 

“You are capable of so much more…” I finally heard the voice that I had dying to hear since I decided that I would like to heal Belle’s mom. It was the voice of the Moon goddess. “Be proud.” The voice was filled with exceeding warmth and love. 

“I did it,” I mumbled and then broke the embrace with Pearl. “Ho–how do you feel?” I asked her as I studied her with my eyes. 

She looked down at her hands and body and let out a small laugh. “Honestly, I feel not much different than before; just a bit lighter,” She told me the truth.
