This is the first time in my life for me to see Harper this way. Snot is rolling down from her nose and her eyes are red from crying so much. Her arms have fresh scratches on them, and her designer jeans have a patch of what looks like dried blood on it.

“I had no choice, he was so…angry.” Harper's voice breaks and she begins to cry. My heart truly aches for her. Even though she has made my life a nightmare, I can’t help but feel sorry for her. 

“I regret nothing, and I would gladly do it again,” She adds, her voice now firm and filled with a form of anger. Her mother closes the distance between them and hugs her, comforting her daughter even though she just confessed to murder.
