Chapter 57

Instead of telling Zayn about the kiss, I avoid it and talk about how beautiful the wedding was. Bunny encourages me to tell them more as she prepares lunch for us in the penthouse. She is a great cook and the aroma coming from the kitchen right now is so mesmerizing.

“It was such a lovely wedding! Everyone was there, almost a thousand people!” I explain, and Zayn sits across from me on the dining room table not far from the kitchen. Bunny can hear and participate in conversation as she cooks.

“Did you see talk to Ashton?” Zayn takes a sip of water after he asks me. He maintains eye contact with me as he does so and I breathe out a shaky smile as my heart thumps in my chest.

“Uh, yeah. We talked and then Zoe made me promise to cut all ties with him.” 

Zayn chuckles and then places the glass of water back on the table. “Why would she do that?”
