Chapter 152

Christmas day was getting closer and closer. The holiday spirit was in the air. All the houses had decorations and people were now wearing warmer clothes.

It was now four days till Christmas and for once since Liam and I hit Harper’s uncle, I felt complete peace. I was not worried about being caught or saying the wrong thing that could land me back in prison. 

I was not looking over my shoulder, or contemplating how to save me and Liam’s a**es. I felt free. I could finally completely relax. 

The case was in the good hands of the detective’s wife, Iris, and she was doing her best to give us the result that we all wanted. I heard from them this morning and they said that things were falling into place; that Alex would be free and the case would be dropped by the eve of Christmas. 

Music played in my ears as I jogged. The sun was setting and the orange glow in the sky was beautiful. If I was not jogging, I would have stopped to take a picture of it. The
