“Alright, sorry for being late, even though it’s not even two hours past noon,” Mr. Clark resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “So can we start now?” He asked them. 

Clary was scared out of her mind. Her nerves were going crazy and her heart was thumping in her chest. It was her first time being in this building, let alone standing before the council. 

Ace could feel Clary’s emotions and he yearned to calm her. He decided to make a bold move and reach for her. When he held her hand, he saw that she was a bit startled but he did not let go though. 

“What are you doing?” Clary whispered to the Alpha. 

“Holding your hand and trying to calm you. It’s obvious that you’re anxious,” He replied to her, and it was without his mouth moving. He was using his mind to communicate with the omega. 

Clary was taken aback that the Alpha was using his mind to talk to her. She did not know how to do it back and began to overthink.
