Chapter 46

There was an empty seat next to Ace, and there was one next to Levi too. Sitting in either one of them was certainly going to spark some problems, so she went ahead and sat next to Mr. Clark. 

Her food was handed to her and she ate. She was really hungry and the food was really good. She tried her best t avoid looking at anyone but she could certainly feel Ace’s and Levi’s eyes on her. 

After she was done, Mr. Clark was the first to stand up. “Let’s get going, shall we? At least now that we have all eaten, we would be able to respond more calmly when we meet the council.” 

Clary wanted to say that she had not taken a shower since morning but she was too shy to do that so she kept quiet and followed everyone out of the house. 

When she was out, she saw two sets of luxurious cars waiting for them. She was praying and had her finger crossed that she wouldn’t have to choose between going with Levi or with Ace. She did not want that.
